Overview

Tisics develop metal composites using the best of  aluminium, titanium, ceramic silicon carbide, to reduce the weight of traditional components by half while maintaining the strength equivalent of steel.

The Sustainable Innovation Fund and KTN helped Tisics accelerate development of their lightweight metal composite by 4-5 years, building full scale components that could dramatically reduce CO2 emissions of aircraft fleets by reducing their weight 30-70%. Applying their materials to landing gear on existing aircraft fleets could save up to 3.7 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
