OrganLike specialises in Hyperreal 3D printed Organ Models for Enhanced Surgical Training during and post COVID-19.
We all make mistakes at work, but if you’re a surgeon, those mistakes can be fatal. OrganLike makes hyper realistic models of human tissue and organs from hydrogel, allowing students to rehearse surgical procedures as part of their training. This ability to practise surgery was vital during the pandemic when classrooms were closed. OrganLike came at the right time to support these students in completing their studies remotely.
Support from Innovate UK’s Sustainable Innovation Fund allowed OrganLike to ramp up its manufacturing following the pandemic, helping more medical schools in the UK and in Africa, gain access to these valuable training models. A further partnership with The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh has allowed OrganLike reach more than 30,000 members in over 150 countries, including Malawi, Zimbabwe and Kenya, helping to improve surgical training there.
