This ‘next generation of wafer’ was conceptualised by Wafer Enterprises. The family-run business, operating since 1989, wanted to help put a stop to the hundreds of millions of pieces of ice-cream packaging going to landfill every year.
Innovate UK’s Sustainable Innovation Fund allowed Joe and Wafer Enterprises to embark on the R&D process turning an idea into a product available on the market.
